Shafaq News / Change bloc in Kurdistan Parliament announced on Wednesday, that the mandate of the region's president, Massoud Barzani will end today, pointing out that under the law, the parliament speaker will assume presidency of the region for 60 days starting on Thursday. The Head of the bloc , Barzo Majid said in a news conference in the parliament building , attended by Shafaq News, that the demand signed by 49 members for an emergency session of the Parliament of Kurdistan is still effective. He added that the Parliament has proved this time that it has a legal reference and works according to the law. He noted that the mandate of the region's president, Massoud Barzani will end tomorrow and the Speaker of parliament will assume power for 60 days until the election of a new president. Kurdistan Parliament failed to convene the emergency meeting called by its Speaker , Yusuf Mohammed for due to lack of a quorum and the presence of 53 members only at a time requires the presence of 56 members to achieve a quorum
