The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Eng. Mohamed Halabousi, met with the First Deputy Speaker of the Council, Hassan Karim Al Kaabi and the Vice President of the Council, Bashir Al Haddad, accompanied by a large parliamentary delegation during their visit to the province of Basra on Tuesday 18/9/2018 with Mr. As'ad Al-Eidani Governor of Basra and Mr. Walid Habib Kitan The general conditions in Basra and ways to promote them.
During his attendance at the special session held by the provincial council in Basra to discuss the situation in the province, President al-Halbusi stressed that the visit of the delegation of the House of Representatives as a representative of the Iraqi people to the province is a message to its members that the House of Representatives did not spare no effort to support and serve Basra and its people.
The Speaker of the Council said that the House of Representatives will continue to coordinate with the federal and local government to restore the life of Basra, in addition to activating the supervisory and legislative roles, pointing out that Basra is the economic lung of Iraq and the title of his sacrifices from the end to the end at all times and in all areas, noting that there is weakness and lack of planning In the institutions in general and we will work to find urgent solutions to it.
He pointed out that there are signs of corruption in many institutions that need double efforts to limit and combat them through a distinguished supervisory role of the relevant regulatory institutions. .
The President stressed Halabousi that the Council during the legislation of the budget of 2018 to include allocations to the province of Basra, calling for the launch of allocations Basra in coordination with the Ministry of Planning according to the time-specific times after the delay of the Ministry of Finance disbursement.
For his part, the First Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Mr. Hassan Karim Kaabi, said at the opening of the extraordinary session of the Basra Provincial Council on the holding of a second parliamentary session to find quick solutions to the problems of the province and launching the Basra project, the economic capital of Iraq because of its positive aspects in supporting the infrastructure.
He explained the first deputy chairman of the Council that what is happening in the province was not the result of the moment, but the previous accumulations because of the delay in the completion of projects and indicators of corruption, noting that the conflict between the federal government and local cast a shadow on the reality service in Basra.
He warned of the dangers of water pollution in the province of Basra as a serious phenomenon must be stopped after 27 thousand people because of pollution, calling for reducing the manifestations of armed existing in the province and to ensure the preservation of peaceful demonstrations and the removal of Mundsen them
He called on the First Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives to follow up the file of detainees and the need to distinguish between the innocent of them or if it was proven sabotage operations, stressing the need to speed up the subject of investment within the province and find outlets and resources other than oil and capital investment, demanding the launch of grades for the sons of Basra.
