The Ministry of Finance announced on Tuesday its control over the problem of weak Internet service in Iraq, and the continuation of the release of salaries of employees and retirees.
"The Ministry continues to release the salaries of employees and retirees in Baghdad and the provinces on the deadlines," Undersecretary Maher Hammad Jouhan said in a press statement. "The problem that has accompanied the disruption of the Internet system over the past two days has been overcome through the adoption of an electronic service system."
He added that "the salaries of employees and retirees are fully insured, and the ministry is keen to deliver their time without obstacles, and also to avoid any forms that may occur as soon as possible salaries of employees and retirees in Baghdad or the provinces."
Iraq has witnessed a disruption to the Internet service for two days starting last Saturday in conjunction with the popular demonstrations taking place in the provinces of the center and the south, and despite the announcement by the Ministry of Communications on the restoration of Internet service, the service is still weak and intermittent with blocking several social networking sites.
