General Electric Company announced the reopening of the Qayara electric station in Nineveh province early next year after being rehabilitated.
"General Electric was one of the first companies to enter Nineveh province after its liberation," Middle East energy director Midhat Merabi said in a statement. "The local staff was able to rehabilitate the Qayara electric station, which is the largest in the province, Subversive by "preaching."
He added that the plant will return to work with the company's technology to produce 750 megawatts early next year, adding that the company has been operating in Iraq for more than 50 years.
