Siemens has pledged to help Iraq overcome the electricity crisis and save 60,000 jobs.
"We have made a promise to the Iraqi people and will be implemented as we have done in Egypt with unprecedented time and efficiency. We also pledge to provide 60,000 jobs and educate thousands of young people to build a new Iraq," said Joseph Kaiser, chief executive of the company.
"I will personally lead this effort to help Iraq in the reconstruction phase," he said.
Iraq has been in a crisis of providing electricity since the nineties of the last century, and worsened after the US invasion of Iraq in 2003.
