The Oil Ministry announced on Thursday the appointment of its minister, Jabbar al-Allaibi, as the head of a new national oil company.
"The government appointed Oil Minister Jabbar al-Luaibi as president of the new national oil company, which will act as an umbrella for state oil companies," ministry spokesman Asim Jihad said.
Jihad said that "Allaibi will retain his ministerial position until the formation of a new government at least."
And voted the House of Representatives during the meeting held on 5 March 2018 on the proposal of the law of the National Oil Company.
Iraq's national oil company, the second largest oil company in the world after Aramco, and the largest of all international oil companies ( IOCs ).
