The Ministry of Planning announced the intention of Iraq to invest about 186 billion dollars in various projects for a number of sectors during the next five years, while pointing out that the private sector will contribute more than 40%.
The Minister of Planning Salman Jumaili said that the oil and gas sector occupies the first place in the acquisition of 38% of these investments followed by the infrastructure sector by more than 20%.
He added that Iraq and according to the development plan 2018-2022 plans to launch projects in the field of infrastructure about $ 5 billion in the form of investment opportunities in partnership with the private sector, local and foreign.
He revealed that there is planning to develop a successful model of public-private partnership in the region with investments worth $ 10 billion for the next five years.
