SULAIMANI — Iraq’s Minister of Finance Ali Allawi said on Sunday (June 28) that the federal government is preparing to start an economic reform project to rejuvenate the economy, with legislation expected in the Council of Representatives within the next three months.
“Our plan includes all aspects of economy and production,” Allawi said.
“The reform plan will rejuvenate the economy and a lot of income will be transferred to the banks of the government and, in an indirect way, it will prevent corruption,” he added.
Allawi also indicated the legislation would work to boost he private sector in Iraq, where the government is the most important employer.
