This came during the reception of Jumaili delegation of peasants of the region headed by Mr. Fares Hussein Abdullah, head of the farmers of the Kurdistan region, adding that during the meeting discussed the issue of financial dues for the farmers of the region accumulated for the past years on the receipt of wheat crop, amounting to 17% of the total public entitlements for the farmers of Iraq
Calling for more joint efforts between the federal government and the provincial government to settle all outstanding issues, including the dues of farmers, indicating that one of the reasons for the emergence of this problem is not to control the border, which leads to cases of smuggling of wheat imported and access to the wheat as local wheat, On the quantities marketed from the farmers and impede the implementation of the agricultural plan and pressure on the financial allocations available.
Stressing that this situation is what called on the federal government to insist on the control of the border to prevent any cases of smuggling, whether wheat or any other materials and goods not in accordance with national specifications
Al-Jumaili pointed out that the federal government and the Ministry of Commerce will make every effort to pay the dues of the peasants in the region like the rest of the farmers of Iraq. For his part, the president of the Kurdistan Farmers Association (Sardam Fares Abdullah) complained about the difficult situation for the peasantry in the region due to the conditions they face, which are not receiving their dues, and the decline in agricultural production due to the lack of rain.
Indicating that the peasants are not guilty of the political differences reflected negatively on them, calling on the Federal Government and the Ministry of Commerce to take into account these circumstances and work to pay those arrears in arrears for three years.
Explaining that he was understanding by the Minister of Commerce, and in this understanding the guarantee that the federal government is serious in addressing this issue
