(Baghdad: Al-Furat News) The head of the Alliance for Reform and Reconstruction, Mr. Ammar al-Hakim, said the coalition is establishing a large and real national project to represent an important transition to the political process in Iraq.
Mr. Ammar al-Hakim, during his presiding over the first quarterly meeting of the Standing Committees of the Alliance, called on the members of the committees to be in the field and keep abreast of all the events and crises.
He also stressed the importance of following up the decisions of the committees to ensure the safety of their implementation and the importance of holding specialized workshops because of their importance in supporting the political process in various sectors and topics covered by these workshops.
Mr. Ammar al-Hakim stressed "the need for close interaction between the legislative committee and all other committees in the coalition in order to contribute effectively to the adoption of important laws that serve the country."
He also urged the "work to achieve a real project of social harmony among all the Iraqi people because of its active role in stabilizing the political process and the transition to construction and reconstruction, stressing the importance of media visibility of the leaders and deputies of the coalition and the need to inform the people on all the roles and achievements of the coalition."
He pointed to "the need to open up to civil society organizations and involve them in the process of reform and construction and the development of political action."
For their part, Ra'anan reviewed the committees' work and the great progress achieved in its institutionalization and expansion of its work, and presented a number of proposals that would contribute to the development of the work of their committees and influence in the largest possible area serving the country and the citizen.
