Oil Minister Jabbar al-Allaibi confirmed on Tuesday that the tanks and warehouses of the Ministry of Electricity are filled with "kerosene" to cover their fuel needs and increase the hours of energy processing.
Al-Allaibi said in a statement received by the Journal News that "the ministry and within the urgent plans of the chamber of operations of the ministry, has been able to implement and meet the urgent needs of the substance" kerosene "for power plants, either through the provision of quantities of domestic production or importer.
The central and southern provinces are witnessing protests over shortages of electricity and drinking water, prompting the federal government to take urgent action to resolve the crisis.
