Iraq has agreed to sell Royal Dutch Shell its 20 percent stake in Iraq's West Qurna 1 oil field to Japan's Itochu, a senior Iraqi oil official said.
The agreement comes as the Anglo-Dutch company agreed to exit the Majnoon oil project, one of the largest fields in OPEC member Iraq, and hand over its operation to the state-owned Basra Oil Company by the end of June 2018.
