Iraqi Foreign Minister Mohammed Ali al-Hakim and his Omani counterpart Yusuf bin Alawi agreed on Wednesday to open an air line and facilitate the granting of entry visas to investors and diplomats between the two countries.
Omani Foreign Minister Yousuf bin Alawi arrived in Baghdad on an official visit to discuss bilateral relations and the situation in the region and held a meeting with his Iraqi counterpart.
"Both sides agreed on the importance of joint Arab support and substantial reforms in the work of the Arab League," Iraqi Foreign Ministry spokesman Ahmad al-Sahaf told a news conference on Monday after the meeting of the two ministers in Baghdad.
He added that "the emphasis on encouraging investment and mutual support for investors," noting that the two sides "stressed the support of the work of the Arab League, and intensify joint dialogues."
The spokesman noted that "the agreement on the opening of an air line between Iraq and Oman," saying that "the talks dealt with facilitating the granting of features of entry to investors, and the campaign of diplomatic passports and service."
