The border crossings authority said on Sunday that "there is no closure of any sea port in the Iraqi ports and that all government agencies are working on their daily work according to the law."
"All customs transactions are terminated with high flow, as long as they are up to date with the legal conditions," it said in a statement.
She added that "the Border Ports Authority has responded to the official requests submitted by all relevant parties, especially the Federation of Iraqi Chambers of Commerce, to expedite the resolution of the subject of goods packed in ports more than a few days, which has not completed its legal procedures."
"This is outside the jurisdiction of the Ports Authority and the matter is currently under the jurisdiction of the General Authority for Customs. It was opened in accordance with our letter No. 5679 of 2018/5/15 for the speedy resolution of the matter in accordance with the provisions of the law and the mechanisms adopted by that body."
The agency called on the media to go to our ports to find out the authenticity of this news, as well as invited traders and loyalists to speed up the completion of such transactions and review the customs offices competent.
