The Council of Ministers held its regular session Tuesday, 12 June 2018 under the chairmanship of the Prime Minister Dr. Haider Abadi.
The council discussed two cases of the explosion of equipment, not belonging to the security services in Sadr City and the burning of the UNHCR store. Detailed reports were presented regarding them, the procedures of investigation, criminal evidence, civil defense, fighting crime and orders issued by the judiciary.
The Council of Ministers affirms that it is continuing to carry out its duties in accordance with the Constitution and the law. It looks forward to fulfilling the requirements of the next political phase, with all that is necessary to support security and stability, provide services to citizens, support the economy and stimulate the investment movement.
1. The Prosecutor shall initiate a criminal action against all those responsible for the violation of the electoral process in accordance with the law and call upon the Supreme Judicial Council to resolve the criminal cases in a manner that ensures the safety of the elections and the detection and prosecution of those involved.
2. Resolve the investigation and prosecution of those responsible for the explosion that took place in Sadr City and hold them accountable and compensate the affected persons in full.
3. The honorable role of our armed forces in liberating the land and maintaining security is a guarantee of its professional capabilities in carrying out its duties without any interference. The Council affirms its support for the professional work of the security forces.
The session witnessed the vote on the annex of the western wavebreak of the port of Faw No. 3.
The vote on the amendment of Resolution No. 172 of 2018 on sovereign guarantees in favor of electricity projects in Maysan.
According to the provisions of Article 80/1 of the Constitution, the Council of Ministers decided the following:
1- Forming a committee headed by the head of the Federal Audit Bureau and the membership of the Undersecretary of the Ministry of the Interior, the Vice-Chairman of the Integrity Commission, the Assistant of the National Intelligence Service and the Assistant of the Head of the National Security Service. The Committee shall receive complaints from citizens regarding the electoral process and administratively investigate them with members of the Board of Commissioners of the Independent High Commission Of the elections and their officials are the cause of the electoral process.
2. The Committee may seek the assistance of experts and form subcommittees to complete its work and submit its recommendations to the concerned authorities, each according to its competence. .
3. The Committee shall complete its work within a maximum period of 14 days.
The Council of Ministers voted to form a committee headed by the governor in Najaf, Diwaniyah, Muthanna and Dhi Qar governorates. The membership of the governorate's agriculture director and the director of the governorate's water resources and the director of the governorate census will be tasked with surveying the farmers and farmers in accordance with the agricultural plan for 2017. The Ministry of Agriculture will submit a full report to the Cabinet to support farmers and farmers.
The recommendation of the Energy Committee was voted on:
First: Expansion of production of the Nasiriyah oil field with a capacity of 100 thousand barrels / day.
Second: Tender for the design, processing and construction of the second central station CBF 2 in the field of Majnoon / Basra Oil Company.
Third: Investment of Nasiriyah and Al Gharaf gas fields in the style of (ABCC) South Gas Company.
The project to complete the pumping station to strengthen the Rumaila Muthanna and supply electricity to the station was voted on.
The Council voted on the project to connect the power supply to the pumping station to strengthen the reinforcement of Rumaila / Muthanna.
The Cabinet also discussed the treatment of water scarcity expected for the coming summer and the allocation of additional funds in the measures taken to address water scarcity.
