The Minister of Electricity of the Government of Iraqi Kurdistan, Kamal Mohammed Saleh, announced that the production of the Kurdistan region of electricity to 6737 MW.
Saleh said in his speech during the conference of the Iraq Institute of Energy and attended by "Economy News", that "the Kurdistan region through investment and providing large facilities to investors was able to increase its production of electricity to 6737 MW," noting that "the Kurdistan Region stations depend in their operation on gas, diesel and oil the black".
He stressed that "the highest consumption of electricity during the winter period up to 5500 MW, which reached the processing hour more than 22 hours a day, but the security events order electricity up to 5500 MW in winter and the processing hours reached more than 22 hours."
He continued that "the security events, which was represented by the entry of ISIS and the displacement of a large number to the Kurdistan region, affected the service sector, bringing the processing of the region from 8-10 hours a day instead of 22 hours and this cost the Kurdistan region 130 billion dinars."
Saleh, Minister of Electricity Loay Al-Khatib, called for studying the national network as well as the Kurdistan Regional Network for cooperation and the possibility of equipping one another to strengthen, in addition to the introduction of 125 megawatts through securing fuel and payment of investors' wages in cooperation and distribution of their production between the two parties.economy-news.net/content.php?id=17779
