The Minister of Labor and Social Affairs, Dr. Basem Abdul Zaman, led Iraq's delegation to participate in the 335th session of the Board of Directors
The International Labor Organization ( ILO), to be held in Geneva, Switzerland, from 18-28 March 2019. The session will discuss the ILO's institutional capacity development strategy to advance social justice through decent work adopted by the International Labor Conference in 2016. The agenda of the session includes a progress report on the implementation of the Enterprise Initiative and the ILO's broader cooperation strategy with the private sector, as well as the review of the Action Plan on Labor Migration Management, in the light of the Global Agreement on Secure, Organized and Regulatory Migration. FAO will report on the five-year work plan for the period 2018-2022 to implement the conclusions of the general discussion on fair and effective labor migration adopted by the International Labor Conference at its 106th Session in 2017 and address the implications for ILO strategic priorities in the light of the adoption of the Assembly General Agreement on Secure, Organized and Regulatory Migration in December 2018.
