The Ministry of Planning announced on Sunday the stability of the indicators of inflation for the month of April, after the same indicators maintained the same level recorded during the month of March, while the annual inflation rate for the period from April 2017 to the same month of the current year 2018 decrease by 1.3 %).
The statement quoted the official spokesman of the Ministry of Planning Abdul-Zahra al-Hindawi, received by "Economy News", saying that "the record for the month of April has maintained the same level in the rate of monthly change in all of Iraq," attributed that stability to "high prices of some sections of the commodity basket Against the decline of others . "
He pointed out that "the base inflation index decreased by (2.0%) for the month of March and rose annually by (0.3%) compared to April 2017, while the annual inflation rate during the month of April 2018 to (1.3%) compared to April 2017, (105.1 %).
He noted that Hindawi said that "the process of collecting prices for April 2018 did not include the province of Nineveh and did not calculate a record in the month because of the prevailing conditions ."
"The food and non-alcoholic beverages sector increased by (0.5%) to contribute (2042.9%) in the rate of monthly change and the changes are due to the increase of the fish group by 1.6% and the increase of the fruit group by 1.7% (0.1%), high sugar and sugar products (0.1%) and higher food products (0.1 %).
The Clothing Section recorded a decrease of 0.2%, contributing 14.3% to the monthly change rate, and the clothing and shoes section increased by 0.2% to 171.4% in monthly change. (0.2%). The Housing Department recorded a decline of (0.6%) to contribute (2442.9%) in the rate of monthly change, "referring to the decline in the rental group's (0.7) (0.9%) and water and electricity supply group (0.6 %).
Household equipment and maintenance increased by (0.1) to (-85.7%) in the rate of monthly change. This increase was due to the increase of the index of household appliances by (0.3 ).
However, the Health Department recorded a rise of 0.1% to contribute to the monthly change rate of (57.1%) while the Transport Department maintained the same level of monthly change rate .
The communications department recorded a decrease of (0.1%) contributing 42.9% to the monthly change rate .
The Recreation and Culture Section recorded a 0.1% increase, contributing 28.6% to the monthly change rate. The Education Department recorded an increase of (0.1%) to contribute (-14.3%) in the rate of monthly change .
On the other hand, the Restaurants Department recorded a decline of (0.3%) contributing 57.1% in the monthly change rate. The miscellaneous goods and services section increased by (0.1%) contributing (-57.1%) to the monthly change rate .
Regarding the annual inflation index, the Ministry of Planning spokesman pointed out that the food and non-alcoholic beverages sector recorded a decrease of (4.1%), contributing (89.4%) to the annual change rate. And the group of oils and fats decreased by (0.7 %).
The group of vegetables decreased by (19.4%). The Tobacco Section recorded a 0.3% increase, contributing 0.2% to the annual rate of change .
The clothing and footwear section also recorded a rise of 1.3%, contributing 6% to the annual rate of change due to the increase in the prices of the clothing group by 1.7 %.
The housing sector recorded a decline of 1.6%, contributing 32.8% to the annual rate of change due to the drop in the rent group by 2.6% and the housing maintenance and maintenance group by 2.9 %.
The household equipment and maintenance sector saw a decrease of 0.3%, contributing 1.4% to the annual rate of change due to the decrease in the prices of furniture and equipment by 1.2 %.
The health department witnessed a rise of 2.3%, contributing 8.0% to the annual rate of change. The Transport Section rose 0.1% to 1.1% in the annual rate of change .
The Communications Section decreased by (0.5%) contributing 1.4% to the annual rate of change. The Education and Culture Section recorded a decrease of 0.4%, contributing 0.5% to the annual rate of change, while the Education Department increased by 3.3%, contributing 2.8% to the annual rate of change. The restaurants section decreased by (0.5%) contributing 0.5% to the annual rate of change .
Finally, miscellaneous goods and services increased by (2.3%) contributing 7.9% to the annual rate of change.
