The General Company for Cereal Trade in the Ministry of Commerce announced the adoption of 55 marketing centers to receive the wheat crop from farmers and marketers in all governorates for the 2018 season.
The director general of the company, Naeem al-Mukassousi, said in a press statement received by "Economy News" that "the marketing centers that were approved included silos, warehouses, bunker and yards, including stationary marketing centers, including marketing centers adopted during the marketing season to ease the burden on the farmers and marketers."
He added that the distribution of the opening of the marketing centers was based mainly on the expected production volume in each governorate according to the expectations of the Ministry of Agriculture, distributed between one marketing center in Karbala, Basra, Muthanna and Kirkuk, and two marketing centers in Anbar, Diyala, Dhi Qar and Maysan. And three centers in the provinces of (Sulaymaniyah, Erbil and Dohuk) and four centers in (Nineveh and Babylon) and five marketing centers in (Baghdad and Salahuddin) and six marketing centers in Wasit province.
He explained that the Higher Committee for Marketing has the right to open or close any marketing center as necessary requirements
Noting that his company opened Sunday morning the doors of marketing centers in the center and south to farmers and farmers to receive the quantities that were harvested.
