The Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs announced on Monday that it had collected 1.1 billion dinars ($ 927.5 thousand) in permits fees for foreign workers and domestic workers since the beginning of 2018.
A ministry statement received by "Economy News" that the work permits for expatriates coming from it, is an official document, and employers of different sectors may not employ workers without obtaining such permits.
The statement pointed to the criteria for recruiting foreign workers to work in Iraq and requiring the investor to be informed of the employment of Iraqi workers at a rate not less than 50% of the total number of workers required.
