Achieving self-sufficiency in cement material

Darraji stressed the need to activate the role of the private sector for the promotion of the industrial sector in light of the exceptional economic circumstances faced by the country, saying that a successful partnership with private sector experience to bring life to the Iraqi industry.

Current estimates of the need for Iraq to cement material (21) million tons per year, as it has about 22 plants for the production of cement Baktaiha the public and private sectors with a total design capacity up to 30 million tons per year.

The minister noted that the local cement plants year Baktaiha and private able to conquer a large part of the country's need, if they were to find appropriate solutions to the problems facing the industry, as well as the provision of government support necessary as is the case in neighboring countries, pointing to the possibility of laboratories to reach design capacity available in the event of operational conditions of the coefficient of electrical energy, fuel and the application of the national product and the consumer customs and tariff protection laws.

The conference came out with several recommendations, the most important work to provide cement material markets and retain good quality, and the application of the Iraqi specifications in the production well, along with the application of the four legislation (tariff, local product protection, consumer protection, and to prevent dumping of commodity), as well as government support for industry cement through energy-saving, similar to neighboring countries.

During the conference was launched Cement Manufacturers Association in Iraq, which was established one recommended by the significant achievements in the second conference last year in 2014.

The first official formation of a local organization gathered cement companies from the public and private sectors in Iraq, according to non-governmental organizations Law No. (12) for the year 2010.

One of the main goals of this Assembly is the communication between the manufacturers and the exchange of experiences and information to serve the cement industry, which is one of the strategic industries in

Country.

And gather the audience during their interventions on the necessity of activating the role of standardization and quality control and customs services, especially at border points to adjust the importer and spoofed him and prevent corruption in this aspect, as well as prevent the import of «cement Jasmine» because he retractable cheated more broadly.

He also stressed the importance of working to reduce costs for manufacturers of cement from the public and private sectors, to create an atmosphere of fair competition with the imported it to benefit from the comparative advantages of production.
