
The chief of Kurdistan Islamic Union (Yakgertu) faction in Iraqi parliament stated that Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi has asked Kurdistan Region to solve its presidential crisis to prevent more tensions in the region. Mathna Amin said in a statement that Abadi told a recent meeting of factions’ leaders and a number of Iraqi parliament deputy that the Kurdish region should overcome the crisis as it would leave a negative effect on the whole of Iraq, Boratha news agency reported.
The deputy further said that Abadi has demanded that tensions between Erbil and Baghdad should end and reiterated that both the region and the federal government should settle their disputes.
