Kubi demanding address for "unknown entities" threaten the demonstrators and the prosecution of trying to "deviation" of peaceful mobility

The Special Representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations in Iraq, Jan Kubis, on Sunday, expressed his appreciation for the way in "peaceful and dignified" conduct of the ongoing demonstrations in parts of Iraq, while praised the performance of the security forces which, warned of "unknown entities" are to "terrorize "demonstrators and journalists, harassment and assault, threats, and called for the need to address them and to prosecute those who are trying to peaceful demonstrations deviation from its path, preventing journalists from doing their job.

The mission said in a statement, said that "the Special Representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations in Iraq, Jan Kubis, expressed his appreciation for peaceful manner and dignified conduct of the ongoing demonstrations in the provinces of central and southern Iraq," noting that "Kubiš praised the professional performance of the Iraqi security forces that were responsible for maintaining the peaceful nature of the demonstrations and the safety of journalists and demonstrators in which aimed to prevent acts of violence and provocations by the forces that may want to provoke clashes and spread chaos. "
