The Iraqi ambassador in Riyadh, Rushdie Al-Ani, announced that Prime Minister Haider Abadi is visiting today Saudi Arabia at the head of a high-ranking delegation.
"Al-Abbadi will arrive today in Riyadh with a high-ranking delegation of 10 ministers of the most important ministries and some 60 advisers," Al-Ani was quoted as saying by Al-Sharq al-Awsat newspaper.
"The agreement will be signed by the Saudi-Saudi Coordinating Council and a press conference will be held, then bilateral meetings will be held between the two countries' officials. The Saudi side will be headed by Majid al-Kasabi and the Iraqi side, Salman al-Jumaili."
Al-Ani pointed out that "relations between the two countries will witness a great start after the announcement of this high-level council."
"We were all very pleased to see the first Saudi Arabian Airlines landing, with more than 200 Saudi businessmen and officials, and how Iraqis were delighted to be given the largest space at the Baghdad International Fair," he said.
The King of Saudi Arabia, King Salman bin Abdul Aziz, earlier invited Prime Minister Haider Abadi invitation to attend the first coordination meeting between the two countries, which will be held in Saudi Arabia this week.
