The head of the Iranian Free Zone, Ismail Zamani, announced Monday the preparation of an agreement between the region and the province of Khuzestan on the one hand and the Iraqi government on the other hand about the freedom of movement of Iraqi cars in the free zone without obtaining a visa.
"By signing this agreement, Iraqi vehicles will be able to travel without a visa to the free area of Arund, but entering the rest of Iran requires their owners to obtain a visa," Zamani said in an interview with the Economist News.
He explained that this would stimulate the tourism industry in the Iranian cities of Abadan and Khmershahr (Muhammara) and attract tourists from the neighboring country.
