Deputy Prime Minister for Energy Affairs and Minister of Oil stressed the ministry's keenness on developing export systems by adding new ports through the implementation of large projects for crude oil transport lines and the establishment of platforms, warehouses and integrated infrastructure for this purpose.
The Deputy Prime Minister for Energy and Oil Minister Thamer Abbas Ghadhban said that the Cabinet approved at its regular meeting on Tuesday on two projects submitted by the Ministry of Oil, the first export (Rumaila - Aqaba) capacity of one million barrels per day through the implementation of the draft pipeline to transport crude oil Of the oil fields in Rumaila in the province of Basra to the port of Aqaba in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, pointing out that the ministry reached advanced stages in the discussions in this regard.
Al-Ghadhban added that the second project approved by the Council of Ministers includes the establishment of an island and an export system in the Gulf with an export capacity of "2 million barrels", which enhances the export energy and a high flow in the movement of supplying the giant oil tankers, adding that these projects, Cihan Turkey will provide Iraq with multiple export possibilities and integrated requirements for dealing with emergency conditions, noting that the multiplicity of export outlets will provide the Treasury of the Federal State financial revenues through which the development of the energy sector and service sectors and infrastructure Of the country.
