BAGHDAD: Iraq will chair the 152nd ordinary session of the Arab League Council at the ministerial level on Tuesday in Cairo, Egypt.
"Iraq, represented by Foreign Minister Mohammed Ali al-Hakim, presides over the 152nd ordinary session of the Arab League Council at the ministerial level," Foreign Ministry spokesman Ahmed al-Sahaf said in a statement received by the Euphrates News.
He added that Iraq "will take over the presidency of the meeting from the Federal Republic of Somalia and the Minister will deliver a speech at the meeting, and then hold a joint conference with Arab League Secretary General Ahmed Aboul Gheit after the end of the meeting."
He added that the participants will discuss a number of topics and items on the agenda, which will hopefully crystallize unified positions on regional issues, especially Arab issues, and stress the importance of ending the crises in the region peacefully, and support efforts to combat terrorism.
The meeting will be held on Tuesday in the Egyptian capital Cairo. is over
