(Reuters) - Sales of real estate for foreigners rose by 15.8 percent in March and Iraqis continued to buy, Turkish statistical data showed on Friday.
According to data released by the Turkish Statistics Agency, Iraqis topped the list by buying 348 properties in March, while the Saudis bought 181 properties, followed by Iranians, 156 with Russians, 120 with Afghans and 108 with real estate.
The data showed that the total number of sales of real estate to foreigners in Turkey in March last year amounted to 1827 registered real estate increased by 15.8 percent compared to the same month last year.
The city of Istanbul was the most Turkish city selling real estate to foreigners last month, with the number of properties sold 556 properties followed by (Antalya) number 446 and then (Trabzon) number 134 and {exchange} of 109 properties and {Yalawa} 89 properties.
In terms of sales of property in Turkey in general, data showed a decline of 14 percent compared to the same month last year, with 110,905 properties sold across Turkey.
According to the data, Istanbul ranked first among Turkish cities most selling properties last month, with sales of 18714 properties followed by Ankara with 11269 properties and then (Izmir) number of 6787 properties, while the city of {Ardhan} at the bottom of the list sales of 11 properties.
