The Amman Chamber of Industry (OCCI) on Monday called on the Iraqi government, except for Jordanian manufactured goods, to implement the free trade agreement signed between the two countries.
"The Iraqi government decided on 5 of this month to impose additional customs duties on a number of goods, including men's suits [20%], chicken [50%], cleaning utensils [30%] and cream [100%]," Chamber President Ziad al-Homsi said in a press statement. And Al-Shibis [85%] and some vaccinations and vaccines [100%], "stressing that" this list will lead to further decline in Jordanian exports to the Iraqi market. "
He explained that "the Amman Chamber of Industry will put the next Jordanian government in front of its responsibilities to follow up the exemption of Jordanian products exported to Iraq from the customs duties, imposed by Baghdad about nine months ago and by up to 30%, along with any new customs duties."
