Speaker of the House of Representatives Salim al-Jubouri said on Thursday that the tribes now have the initiative to stand up to the serious challenges, especially in the security file.
"Tribal people have stood up courageously against extremist organizations and they have been the true support of the security forces in achieving stability," Jubouri said during a large tribal gathering held south of Baghdad in the host of Sheikh Shafiq al-Mojun al-Jabouri.
The speaker praised the "role and place of the clans in Iraqi society," adding that "throughout the history of Iraq, it has been a safety valve for the Iraqis in the trials and tribulations that they face when they are ravaged by conflicts and conflicts."
"We are waiting for a dangerous and sensitive role in supporting the government through hard work to fight corruption and develop security and services in the belt areas of Baghdad because of the suffering suffered throughout the previous period."
