A large economic and investment delegation arrived from Saudi Arabia on Wednesday and was received by Minister of Commerce Dr. Mohammad Hashim Al-Ani.
"The Minister of Commerce, Dr. Mohammad Hashim Al-Ani, was received by the Saudi delegation," the Information Office of the Minister of Commerce said in a statement that "a large economic and investment delegation arrived at Baghdad International Airport."
"The visit of the Saudi economic delegation to Baghdad is an affirmation of the government's approach to opening up to regional neighbors and other countries of the world, and continuing economic and trade partnerships," Al-Ani said.
Al-Ani added that "this visit will strengthen the continuation of the meetings of the Iraqi-Saudi Coordination Council, which was established two years ago and is an important step in activating economic and trade relations with Saudi Arabia."
A statement from the Information Office of the Minister of Commerce said that the delegation hoped to meet with the Prime Minister Dr. Adel Abdul-Mahdi and the President of the Republic and the Speaker of the Council of Representatives, while there will be a session of talks with concerned in the ministries and the State departments to reach the results may put relations at the level of desire of the two brotherly countries.
On October 22, 2017, Iraq and Saudi Arabia signed the memorandum establishing the Coordinating Council between the two countries.
