The Minister of Oil Jabbar al-Luaibi announced the agreement with the Italian company "Eni" on the implementation of a desalination project in the water station, which contributes to the lifting of salinity and harmful substances and pollutants, this was accompanied by the Minister to the Prime Minister in his visit to the province of Basra.
The minister said that it was agreed with the company to start the project desalination plant in order to pump drinking water for citizens and all the beneficiaries of that station.
Al-Luaibi said that the period of completion of the work takes four months, stressing that he required the executing company to comply with the timing of the duration of implementation.
He added Allaibi water will be filtered and sterilized in accordance with the most accurate health conditions and approved standard specifications,
The Minister also said that the ministry will also coordinate with the Ministry of Industry and Minerals to implement another project in the national effort to extend two pipes to the Bardaiya station and find outlets to discharge sewage water outside the Shatt al-Arab waters.
The Minister instructed the national specialized companies to carry out the comprehensive maintenance and rehabilitation of the pumps and filters at the Abu Al Khasib water station, as well as extending two pipelines, the first of two manual stations and the other of the Shatt al-Arab in order to promote water supply to Abu Al-Khasib station, indicating that this campaign will be monitored and supervised by The ministry will be in the process of implementation in the coming days, and we plan to achieve a record period.
On the other hand, the minister pointed to the ministry's agreement with ExxonMobil to set up new pumps in the Shatt al-Arab plant to divert the pumping water to (R0), explaining that through this project will be pumping water for domestic use, noting that the directions were also To obligate ExxonMobil to extend a pipeline from the "Two Handbooks" station to the Shatt al-Arab to boost the amount of water pumped to the citizens.
Al-Luaibi said that the period given to the US company is four months, not extendable, considering that the time is sufficient to complete the project.
On the other hand, al-Luaibi revealed that the Ministry of Oil will establish a health clinic near the station (R0) to provide medical and therapeutic services for workers in the station, which is located away from the health centers and hospitals in Basra.
